13 Reasons Why - complete series
An intense and impressive series that sticks with you.
The fact that so many important social problems are dealt with is something I do appreciate. It is, however, quite daring for an American series. At times, the series can be pretty intense. I truly hope that there aren't many teenagers who have to experience the events that the teens from this series do. At the same time, this series manages to grasp you completely. And it doesn't let go. Some scenes are so terrifyingly good that you'll almost forget that you're watching a series. I am not easily impressed by acting performances, but the way these actors portray their characters is absolutely phenomenal.
In total, the series has four seasons. It is based on the book with the same name by Jay Asher. The first season is pretty much the basis for the story of the entire series. It starts off with the story of Hannah Baker. After her suicide, she leaves behind thirteen cassette tapes. One for each person who had something to do with her suicide. Thirteen tapes, thirteen reasons. The title of the series is pretty obvious. The other seasons of the series occur after Hannah's life and revolve around a different - but still related - theme.
I do want to warn all potential viewers. If you or someone with who you're watching this series is dealing with one of the issues mentioned above, watch this series at your own risk. Ensure that you've got someone around with whom you're able to talk. Some scenes can hit pretty close to home as they can be creepily realistic.

Naturally, there are some differences between the seasons. Personally, I find the first season to be the best. However, there was one particular scene in the second season that I couldn't get out of my head for two weeks after watching it. If you've seen the season, you'll know which scene I'm talking about. The other seasons have solid storylines and impressive scenes, but I still consider the first to be the best. Even though the series can be a bit unbelievable at times, it keeps amazing you.Even though the series can be a bit unbelievable at times, it keeps amazing you.
