7th Heaven reboot in development at CBS Studios with Jessica Biel as producer

The long-running family drama 7th Heaven is set to return, with Anthony Sparks (Queen Sugar) set to write the potential new version for CBS Studios. Deals for the 7th Heaven reboot are still being finalized, with Jessica Biel expected to executive produce the early-stage project through her production company Iron Ocean. Biel starred in the original series.



DeVon Franklin is also attached as an executive producer to Franklin Entertainment, under his overall deal with CBS Studios.

The original 7th Heaven , which aired for 11 seasons on The WB and The CW, marked one of the latest hits from prolific producer Aaron Spelling, whose library is owned by CBS Studios. The studio previously revived his Beverly Hills, 90210 twice and also offered a new Melrose Place .

7th Heaven starred Stephen Collins as a California pastor and patriarch of a large family. The original cast also includes Catherine Hicks, Barry Watson, David Gallagher, Jessica Biel, Beverley Mitchell and Mackenzie Rosman.

CBS Studios has been busy combing through its library, with a reboot of Little House on the Prairie recently approved by Netflix and a sequel to the film Clueless in the works at Peacock.
