Jessica Capshaw plays Blythe Sharpe, Don's wife and Ryan's mother. Hailey Kilgore plays Taylor Thompson, a firefighter who is also a singer. Juani Feliz takes on the role of Roxie Alba, a firefighter who was a trauma surgeon and now turns out to be a real adrenaline junkie.
Country singer LeAnn Rimes also stars as Dixie Bennings, the mother of Blue (played by Hunter McVey), a firefighter and former stripper. Finally, Kimberly Williams-Paisley plays Cammie Raleigh, a 911 operator.
The series was created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, and is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television.
