New 9-1-1 spin-off may be closer than ever

New 9-1-1 spin-off may be closer than ever

The long-awaited second 9-1-1 spinoff may be closer to development.
Nothing is set in stone yet, but talks about a new series of the first responders' drama continue as spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star comes to a close.

9-1-1

As previously reported, unlike 9-1-1 which moved to ABC after six seasons on Fox, 9-1-1: Lone Star is not expected to make the same move after its current fifth and final season on Fox. Instead, 9-1-1 would get another spinoff on ABC in a new location, with Las Vegas among the possible cities being considered for Los Angeles (9-1-1) and Austin (9-1-1: Lone Star) to follow.

9-1-1: Lone Star

9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star were created and executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, with Minear leading the franchise as showrunner. He and Murphy have discussed a new series planned for next season and for which a script is being written.

That could give Murphy a full evening of programming on the network with two 9-1-1s and Doctor Odyssey. The 9-1-1 franchise is produced by 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Prods.

Isn't it getting too much with too many series telling the same story? You have to have a lot of imagination.
