9-1-1 promotes Corinne Massiah and Elijah M. Cooper to regular players

Actors Corinne Massiah (May) and Elijah M. Cooper (Harry), the children of Athena (Angela Bassett), have been promoted to series regulars.
After the tragic death of her husband Bobby (Peter Krause), Athena Grant (Angela Bassett) will likely seek more support from her family in the ninth season of 9-1-1, including her children May and Harry, played by Corinne Massiah and Elijah M. Cooper.

For Massiah, this marks a return to a familiar role: she began as a recurring character in the first season, then became a regular from seasons two through five, but later appeared less frequently while attending UCLA (where she has since graduated with a degree in sociology).

Cooper has played Harry since season seven, but the character was played by a different actor for the first five seasons and did not appear in season six because Harry lived with his father.

In addition to Bassett, Massiah, and Cooper, the regular cast for season nine includes Jennifer Love Hewitt (Maddie Han), Oliver Stark (Evan “Buck” Buckley), Kenneth Choi (Howie 'Chimney' Han), Aisha Hinds (Henrietta 'Hen' Wilson), Ryan Guzman (Eddie Diaz), and Gavin McHugh (Christopher Diaz).

The ninth season premieres on Thursday, October 9th, on ABC (and the following day on Hulu). The previous season ended with the shocking death of Bobby, an event that the characters are still grappling with.
