Ted Danson goes undercover again in trailer for A Man on the Inside season two

The trailer for the second season of the Netflix comedy series A Man on the Inside reveals the next case for silver-haired private detective Charles Nieuwendyk (played by Ted Danson).
In the new season of A Man on the Inside, Charles (Ted Danson) goes undercover as a university professor, a job he held before his retirement, to investigate who is blackmailing the university president (played by Max Greenfield).

Although this case takes Charles away from the nursing home where he conducted an investigation for private detective Julie (Lilah Richcreek) in the first season, the people he met there continue to play a role in his life.

The trailer shows that Charles continues his backgammon games with his friend Calbert (Stephen McKinley Henderson) and enlists Calbert, Virginia (Sally Struthers), Elliott (John Getz), and Grant (Clyde Kusatsu) to help with the investigation. Stephanie Beatriz also returns as Didi, the director of the nursing home.

The second season further strengthens its impressive cast with Gary Cole, Michaela Conlin, Lisa Gilroy, Madison Hu, Sam Huntington, Jason Mantzoukas, Constance Marie, Linda Park, Mary Steenburgen, David Strathairn, and Jill Talley.

A Man on the Inside is produced by Universal Television and is based on the documentary The Mole Agent. The series is created by Michael Schur, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer through his production company Fremulon.

A Man on the Inside season two is available for streaming on Netflix starting Thursday, November 20. Watch the trailer below.

It's great to see the people who had such great chemistry in season 1 returning. Will this series rival "Only Murders in the Building"? Who knows. I'm really looking forward to it.

Hopefully, another refreshingly funny mix of warmth, absurdity, and clever comedy. Ted Danson as an undercover professor sounds like just the right dose of charm and chaos.
