The second season of A Very English Scandal has two lead actors

The BBC and Amazon have signed contracts with Claire Foy and Paul Bettany to be part of the long-expected second season of the series.

In March 2020, the announcement came that Sarah Phelps - the British writer of the Agatha Christie series The ABC Murders and The Pale Horse - had signed up for the second season of A Very English Scandal. The three-part second season will be called A Very British Scandal due to it revolving around a Scottish topic. Production is set to begin later this year.

Claire Foy

A Very British Scandal will continue on from the story of Jeremy Thorpe into an anthology series, which aims at a new crisis that kept the British establishment in its grasp. The second season revolves around a sex scandal from 1963, which saw the involvement of Margaret Campbell, the Duchess of Argyll. During the messy divorce of her second husband, he recorded footage of Campbell performing sexual acts on an unknown man. She then became known as 'The Dirty Duchess'. Foy (The Crown) and Bettany (Marvel's WandaVision) will portray the Duchess and the Duke respectively.

Paul Bettany

It hasn't been revealed when the second season is set to release. It is expected to release somewhere in 2022.
