Comedy series Abbott Elementary shares cast photos for season five

The fifth season of the award-winning comedy series Abbott Elementary has premiered on ABC.

Abbott Elementary is set in a predominantly Black public school in West Philadelphia and follows the optimistic second-grade teacher Janine Teagues (Quinta Brunson) and her colleagues.

The main cast also includes Tyler James Williams (Gregory Eddie), Janelle James (Ava Coleman), Lisa Ann Walter (Melissa Schemmenti), Chris Perfetti (Jacob Hall), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Barbara Howard), and William Stanford Davis (Mr. Johnson).

For this season, there's even an episode filmed during a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game, which the cast previously shared a photo of. Quinta Brunsonalso hinted that there will be more moments between Janine and Gregory, as well as a 'game-changer' that will determine the school's future.

The first episodes of season five have the following storylines:

Episode 1 - Team Building (Wednesday, October 1): The teachers prepare for the new school year, with new faces and major changes ahead.

Episode 2 - Cheating (Wednesday, October 8): Melissa tries to outsmart her students; Tariq causes chaos in Janine's class, and a new school counselor joins.

Episode 3 – Ballgame (Wednesday, October 15): The team from Abbott heads to the stadium for Teachers’ Appreciation Night at the Philadelphia Phillies.
