A man in a green BMW holds a gun on Reed in an all-night grocery store; although Reed is uninjured, the man's accomplice is shot and makes a dying declaration that Reed was trigger-happy and fired without warning. Malloy and his by-the-book replacement partner locate the gunman and clear Reed's name.
