After Life will end with its third season

The upcoming third season of the British comedy After life will also be its final.

Two weeks after the second season released, Netflix already ordered a third season of After Life. By now, the writing process for the script has finished. This was announced by creator and lead actor Ricky Gervais (Derek) on his Instagram page. It will be the final script he has written for After Life. Gervais revealed to American media that the series will end with its third season.

“I’ve already made my mind up there won’t be four seasons. And you do put those things out there to make you remember as it’s tempting but… there’s an old saying that ‘to lead the orchestra, you’ve got to turn your back on the audience’. That’s true. The audience think they want another one, but they’re not sure. So you’ve got to be careful.”, said Gervais to The Mirror.

After Life may be ending at Netflix, but Gervais will not leave the streaming service just yet. He signed an exclusive deal with Netflix, which means that he will be creating exclusive content for the streaming service for the foreseeable future.
