Game of Thrones actor replaces late Ray Stevenson for Ahsoka season two

Ray Stevenson, who played former Jedi Baylan Skoll in the first season of Ahsoka, died in May 2023. His role in Ahsoka season two will be taken over by another actor.
Scottish actor Rory McCann (pictured), best known as the burly brute The Hound in HBO's Game of Thrones, will replace the late actor Ray Stevenson for a second season of Star Wars series Ahsoka.

Stevenson played the hulking former Jedi known as Baylan Skoll in the Disney+ series. He died after a brief illness in May 2023, three months before the series premiered. The actor was a fan favorite thanks to his resonant voice, humor, and roles in Punisher: War Zone, the Thor films, and TV’s Rome.

Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson as another former Jedi, the eponymous Ahsoka Tano, who teams up with a former apprentice to stop the evil Empire from reforming. Two obstacles in her path are Skoll and his apprentice, Shin Hati, played by Ivanna Sakhno.

It is unclear when the new season will begin filming or who will direct. Dave Filoni was the showrunner for the first season and will return in the same capacity.

McCann was recently seen on the big screen in Gladiator II. He also starred in Netflix’s The Irregulars and Paramount+’s Knuckles. McCann also lent his voice to the animated series Transformers: EarthSpark.
