Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen gets premiere date

Netflix will soon release the two-part documentary aka Charlie Sheen and has released the first trailer.
The two-part documentary is directed by Andrew Renzi (Pepsi, Where's My Jet?) and explores the phenomenon of Charlie Sheen, once a megastar for his role in Two and a Half Men, but later the center of a 'tabloid black hole'.

Charlie Sheen

The documentary follows Sheen's life from his youth in Malibu, through his meteoric rise to superstardom, to his dramatic public fall. What makes this documentary special is that, after seven years of sobriety, Sheen opens up for the first time about events he's never spoken about publicly before.

Besides Sheen himself, the film also features interviews with family members, friends, and colleagues, including Denise Richards, Jon Cryer, Heidi Fleiss, Sean Penn, Ramon Estevez, Brooke Mueller, Chris Tucker, and even his former drug dealer, Marco.

The documentary promises extremely candid interviews and relives the most notorious moments of his life with emotion and warmth, highlighting not only his self-destructive side but also the love and forgiveness of those around him.

aka Charlie Sheen is available on Netflix starting Wednesday, September 10th. Watch the trailer below.

aka (also known as) refers to the fact that his real name is Carlos Estévez. Son of the famous Ramón Estévez aka Martin Sheen :-)
Charlie is someone who basically always plays himself. I only really thought he acted well in Platoon. Otherwise, it's always just Charlie Sheen. Which, by the way, there's nothing wrong with that.

It's absolutely true that he gave his best dramatic performance in Platoon; he was truly impressive. But I certainly wouldn't forget Wall Street. As Bud Fox, he gave a strong performance opposite Michael Douglas and beautifully portrayed the temptation and downfall of a young broker.

I'd forgotten about Wall Street, haha. But you're right, he certainly wasn't wrong in that respect either.
