Trailer released for second season And Just Like That...

HBO/Max unveils a new trailer for season two of the Sex and the City sequel series And Just Like That… as Carrie gets her life together (or not).

Just three weeks before its official return on Thursday, June 22, the second season of And Just Like That… has a brand new trailer with an explosive reveal about a major storyline. The series is a sequel to Sex and the City with the return of the main characters Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon).

And Just Like That…

The first season, which premiered on Max (in Europe, still HBO Max) in late 2021, followed Carrie's grief in the year following the death of her husband Mr. Big (Chris Noth).

The trailer continues to follow the storylines of Miranda (who's recently divorced but has issues with her new partner Che Diaz, played by Sara Ramirez) and Charlotte (who may be learning to embrace the chaos of parenthood). However, a huge bombshell is also dropped about the imminent return of Carrie's former flame Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). It turns out that the reason he's back in her life is because she sent him an email out of the blue with the subject "Hey Stranger".

While Carrie has dated quite a few men over the course of Sex and the City, only a few have progressed to major long-term relationships. The most important was her future husband Mr. Big, whom she met in the very first episode of the series. But besides possibly Aleksandr Petrovsky (Mikhail Baryshnikov), Aidan is the other most important figure in her love life in the series.

The character, a charming furniture designer, was first introduced in season three. Carrie and Stanford first saw him in a furniture commercial before the two actually met, beginning a relationship that lasted a total of 22 episodes spanning subsequent seasons. Their romantic ups and downs include Carrie lying about being a smoker, cheating on him with Mr. Big, and eventually a broken engagement.

Aidan's most recent appearance in the franchise was in the 2010 movie Sex and the City 2. During the events of that movie, they shared a passionate kiss that Carrie eventually confessed to Big. While Carrie is single again in And Just Like That…, their long history may still prevent them from getting together, so their future remains uncertain.

And Just Like That… is developed and produced by Michael Patrick King, along with executive producers John Melfi, Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Writers include Michael Patrick King, Samantha Irby, Susan Fales-Hill, Lucas Froehlich, Rachel Palmer, Julie Rottenberg, and Elisa Zuritsky. Directors are Michael Patrick King, Cynthia Nixon, Ry Russo-Young and Julie Rottenberg. The HBO series Sex and the City was created by Darren Star and based on the book Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell.
