The CW announces fall finale dates

The CW has announced the autumn finale dates of eight series. The CW is the smallest of the television networks and therefore has a smaller share in the ratings. But The CW will also have to cancel or renew series despite of that. The CW did give newcomers 'Jane the Virgin' and 'The Flash (2014)' a full season, but this is no guarantee that the series will get better ratings.

'The Flash (2014)' has its autumn finale on 9 December. 'The Flash (2014)' had a good start with 4.83 million viewers; unfortunately this figure has now dropped to 3.53 million viewers.

'Jane the Virgin', which will be put temporarily on hold on 15 December, started with 1.65 million viewers, but now has only a little over one million viewers. That is a decline of more than 19%.

The second season of 'The 100' will have its autumn finale on 17 December. The series immediately started with more than 43 percent fewer viewers and also the second episode had a decline in the ratings. The average of 'The 100' is 1.51 million viewers.

'Reign (2013)', which is just like 'The 100' in its second season, will temporarily stop on 11 December. 'Reign (2013)' didn’t do much better with the first episode of the second season than 'The 100', but the two subsequent episodes showed a more positive picture. The series now has an average of 1.17 million viewers.

'The Originals' is also struggling. The series shows a decline of more than 33 percent and these ratings drop weekly. 'The Originals' will have an autumn finale on 8 December.

'Supernatural', 'Arrow' and 'The Vampire Diaries' will respectively have an interim finale on 9, 10 and 11 December; and these series are also having fewer viewers. The viewers are not staying away in such large numbers as with 'The 100' and 'Reign (2013)', but still there is reason for concern. The CW didn't announce when all of these series will return.
