The series follows Avatar Aang, who, as a young Avatar, must master the four elements — water, earth, fire, and air — to restore balance in a world threatened by the relentless Fire Nation.
In season two, after their bitter but hopeful victory against the Fire Nation's invasion force at the Northern Water Tribe, Aang, Katara, and Sokka continue their journey. They attempt to persuade the reclusive Earth King to join them in the fight against the formidable Fire Lord Ozai.
Following the success of the first season, Netflix renewed the series for two more seasons, which were filmed back-to-back. Now that the filming of season three has concluded, both seasons are fully in post-production.
Executive producer and writer Christine Boylan told Tudum that at the start of season two, the creative team focused on three core values — integrity, hope, and joy — and that the immense dedication of the cast and crew has far exceeded these ideals.
