Premiere date and teaser for Netflix comedy series Bad Thoughts released

Tom Segura offers the first uncontrolled glimpse into his mind with his upcoming series Bad Thoughts. In the teaser for his new six-part Netflix comedy series Bad Thoughts, which he debuted Saturday during a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, the comedian presents his dark and twisted musings in a cinematic alternate universe.

Bad Thoughts is being described as Black Mirror meets Chappelle’s Show. The first teaser promises an alien invasion, snipers, radicalized elementary school kids, a bloody kitchen showdown, a horrific disfigurement, and penis envy, all presented with a cinematic quality.

Sources reported last April that Segura had self-financed, produced, and sold the then-untitled pilot to Netflix, noting that he also serves as the series’ narrator, taking viewers through a series of vignettes in each episode. The twisted comedic sensibility of his stand-up is the core DNA of this series, where each story will unfold in a hilariously disturbing way that only he could imagine.

Segura’s first scripted series for Netflix comes after filming five stand-up specials for the streaming platform, including Completely Normal (2014), Mostly Stories (2016), Disgraceful (2018), Ball Hog (2020), and Sledgehammer (2023).

Bad Thoughts premieres on the streamer on Tuesday, May 13. Watch the teaser below.
