HBO series Barry ends after the fourth season

HBO has announced that the fourth season of the Emmy award-winning dark comedy series Barry will also be the final season. The fourth season will air on HBO Max in April. Bill Hader's Barry is coming to an end. HBO has confirmed that the fourth season of the dark comedy series will be its last. It's no big surprise, as many of the actors, including Anthony Corrigan and Henry Winkler, have alluded to it being over after season four in recent interviews.

The series follows the adventures of Barry, an assassin who dreams of becoming an actor. The more he tries to shirk the shady practices of his past, the more it consumes him - and affects everyone around him.



Barry's first two seasons received a total of thirty Emmy nominations and won six, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Bill Hader), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Henry Winkler), Outstanding Sound Editing For a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation.

The fourth and final season will premiere in the Netherlands on April 17 and consists of eight episodes, with the finale on May 29. A fun fact is that protagonist Bill Hader will direct all eight episodes himself. Watch a teaser trailer below.
