Bates Motel renewed for second season

A&E has extended its stay at Bates Motel. The network has renewed the prequel of the famous movie Psycho for a second season of ten episodes.

The series has maintained strong ratings since it debuted two weeks ago with three million viewers. This makes Bates Motel's debut the best watched debut on the network ever. “Bates Motel has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first few weeks,” A&E president Bob DeBitetto said in announcing the pickup Monday.
