Ruby Rose exits Batwoman

Ruby Rose has announced that she will not portray Kate Kane in Batwoman in the upcoming season. The CW is looking for a replacement actress.
Batwoman premiered on the American network The CW in the fall of 2019. Batwoman is part of the Arrowverse, and the character was introduced in Elseworlds, the cross-over event from 2018. The series revolves around Kate Kane, the niece of Bruce Wayne who is more commonly known as Batman. She dons his cape after he leaves. The cast further consists of Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson and Dougray Scott

Batwoman was renewed with a second season in January. Now, Ruby Rose, the actress who portrays the lead character in the superhero series, has revealed that she will not return to Gotham. This departure was sudden and unexpected. A clear reason has not yet been given.

Spokespeople for the series have revealed that they're dedicated to the new season and are looking for a replacement actress. Batwoman is the first superhero series where a lesbian woman is the main character. The studio has revealed that they'll look for another LGBTQ+ actress to portray Kate Kane.

I think Batwoman is quite a cool series, but Ruby Rose a lesser actress, so I am not sorry about this.

I stopped watching partly because of Ruby Rose. Not convinced at all as a batwoman. Thought the bad girl from season 1 to act much better than Rose. Maybe if they find a better actress I'll pick it up again.

get a bit different when suddenly someone else starts playing the role. am curious how she will process this. admit she is not the best actress but as soon as you watch something you get used to something

Well, when this series was announced, it seemed that the fact that she was a lesbian was more important than that she was a good actress. I never watched the series, but only saw its "performance" in the CW crossover. And in that she made absolutely no good impression on me. So ... next!
