Javicia Leslie will be the new Batwoman

It has been revealed that actress Javicia Leslie will portray the new superheroine of Gotham. This has happened after Ruby Rose has announced her decision to quit Batwoman. Last May, it was revealed that Ruby Rose has laid down the mantle of Batwoman. The CW and Warner Bros then decided to find a new LHBT-actress to ensure the continuation of the show. It has just been revealed that the role will now be portrayed by God Friended Me star Javicia Leslie.

Leslie will portray a new character, called Ryan Wilder. Wilder is a completely different character than Kate Kane. She lives on the street, inside her van and has a history of drug abuse. She isn't the All American hero one would think of. Ruby Rose has reacted with praise when this announcement was made.

The second season of Batwoman will most likely release in spring 2021. How the rest of the cast will support Ryan's story is as of yet unknown.
