Before

This series reminded me a bit of The Sinner, although it is not a detective on the verge of retirement, but a psychiatrist who works with children. His name is Eli and he decides to take on one last case before he quits. This coincides with the suicide of his wife, who was diagnosed with cancer. The case concerns a child who seems to be possessed, but as it progresses you start to wonder who is actually possessed? The psychiatrist or his patient?

As is so often the case with Apple TV+ series, the quality jumps off the screen. Really good actors, well-maintained sets, raw realistic atmosphere, everything just seems real. My only point of criticism is that it could have all been told in six episodes. Sometimes I thought: "Does there have to be another scene in which Eli hallucinates?" But all in all, a fascinating (although gloomy) series, which my love and I watched with great pleasure.
