Bel-Air renewed for third season by Peacock

The streaming service announced that the series has been renewed for a third season. The second season will air new episodes through April 27.

When Bel-Air appeared on Peacock last year, it became the most-watched original premiere for the streaming service. With the debut of the second season, it is the most-watched Peacock original second series to date.

Bel-Air is a reinvention of Will Smith's 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The series follows Will's complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated community of Bel-Air. When these two worlds collide, Will (Jabari Banks) must reckon with the power of a second chance as he must overcome the conflicts, emotions and prejudices of a world far unlike the one he's ever known.

Season two opens with Will at a crossroads as a new figure enters his life challenging what he learned in Bel-Air and vying for control of his influence. He juggles this while managing his domestic life with the Banks family and tries to rebuild the trust that was broken at the end of the previous season. We'll see how Will and Carlton's brotherhood begins to develop as they grow closer, but still challenge each other about their differences.

We'll also see how Hilary develops as she becomes more of a boss in her world of influencers and how that feeds into her relationship with Jazz, as well as the relatable battle around Viv and Phil balancing marriage and family as they try to create their own forge career paths and reconnect with the things that matter to them.

In addition to Banks, the series also stars Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones. The second season also sees the return of Tatyana Ali, who played the original Ashley Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and has a recurring guest role.

Carla Banks Waddles serves as showrunner for the series. Executive producers are Morgan Cooper, Anthony Sparks, Malcolm Spellman, Will Smith, Terence Carter, James Lassiter, Miguel Melendez, Benny Medina, Quincy Jones, Andy & Susan Borowitz, TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Westbrook Studios.
