BBC series Beyond Paradise renewed for a third season and Christmas special

The expansion of Death In Paradise continues apace with a third season and Christmas special of spin-off Beyond Paradise.
The Christmas special comes straight after the conclusion of season two. The BBC and BritBox International detective series has been a sobering hit for the BBC and was one of the UK's most popular debut dramas last year.

Beyond Paradise

Beyond Paradise stars Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman who left Saint Marie, the setting of Death In Paradise, to move to Shipton Abbott near the Devon coast, the home village of his partner Martha (Sally Bretton). Not long after his arrival, Humphrey joins the small local police force, where he quickly impresses the local officers.

In the second season, which has just concluded on the BBC, Humphrey and Martha almost got married, as their foster home journey came to a heartwarming end when they welcomed Ryan into their home.

Beyond Paradise has become such a huge hit with millions of viewers across the UK,” said BBC Drama Director Lindsay Salt. “It’s a show that is absolutely on a roll, and we’re beyond pleased to bring more fiendishly clever mysteries from the Shipton Abbott team to the BBC.”

Set in the Caribbean, Death In Paradise is one of the most popular BBC dramas of this millennium and has been running for thirteen seasons. Another spin-off, ABC's Return to Paradise in Australia, is launching soon and has also been acquired by the BBC. Red Planet Pictures produces Death In Paradise and Beyond Paradise, while BBC Studios Productions produces Return to Paradise.

Beyond Paradise has been sold to almost 60 territories by BBC Studios.

Great that there will be a third season! Just like Death in Paradise, a wonderful series to watch.
