In the eighth and final season, our beloved Bridgeton teens take on new challenges as high school students, including: driving, drugs, sexual inexperience, enthusiastic consent, porn and the teenage mind, cancel culture, their changing bodies, and (eventually) fear of the impending future. Through it all, friendship is the cornerstone of surviving this period of life—whether one’s adolescence is just beginning, as for Nick, who is experiencing his first growth spurt, or is nearing its end, as for a mature (and prematurely balding) Andrew.
At the season’s climax, when many of our characters are in crisis, Compassion (personified as a new being voiced by Holly Hunter) emerges as a crucial path forward. Ultimately, this season is about the importance of sticking together and supporting your friends, especially when life gets overwhelming and messy. Ultimately, our children will step into the harrowing unknown of the future less afraid of what lies ahead because they have each other.
From best friends Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, Big Mouth is about the glorious nightmare that is teenage puberty. Mulaney lends his voice to the character of Andrew, while Kroll (who serves as co-creator and executive producer) voices many others, including best friend Nick. Kroll, Goldberg, and screenwriters-directors Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett all serve as creators and executive producers of the series. Big Mouth is a Netflix production.
Big Mouth season eight is available to stream on Netflix on May 23. Check out more photos below.
