SPOILER ALERT: This message contains details about the finale of the fifth season of Billions, which aired on the 3rd of October on Showtime.
Billions had already been renewed with its sixth season. Recently, it returned with the second part of the fifth season, which was delayed due to the pandemic-related production halt. It expanded upon the struggle between Lewis' Axelrod, Giamatti's Chuck Rhodes and a newcomer portrayed by Corey Stoll. His character will become much more prominant, seeing as he has been promoted to a regular cast member.

Even though Stoll will become a regular, Damian Lewis will leave the series after the fifth season. It is not yet known whether or not he will be written out completely or if there's potential for a guest role every now and then. The sixth season will premiere on the 23rd of January in 2022.
