Charlie Brooker's dark, satirical anthology series returns in 2025 with six new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister, one of the series' most popular episodes. Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson and Michaela Coel star in the original episode that aired first of season four.

The Emmy-winning episode was written by Brooker and directed by Toby Haynes. It follows Daly (Plemons), a reclusive but gifted programmer and co-founder of a popular massively multiplayer online game who is bitter about the lack of recognition of his position by his peers. Daly tells a story that evokes themes of fragile masculinity and the dangers of technology. He vents his frustrations by simulating a Star Trek-like space adventure in the game, using his colleagues' DNA to create sentient digital clones of them, with terrifying consequences.

“USS Callister returns… Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their troubles are just beginning,” reads a teaser released by Netflix at an event in London in March.

Brooker created the series and serves as executive producer alongside Jessica Rhoades and Annabel Jones. Brooker and Jones' Broke & Bones production company continues to produce and Banijay Rights distributes.
