Irish crime series Blackshore soon to be seen on BBC First

In the crime series, Inspector Fia Lucey (Lisa Dwan) is confronted with old traumas and secrets during an investigation. The leading role in Blackshore is for Lisa Dwan, who previously appeared in crime series such as Top Boy and Bloodlands.

In Blackshore, Inspector Fia Lucey (Dwan) faces disciplinary charges for attacking a violent criminal and reluctantly returns to the town she left many years earlier.



Lucey investigates the recent disappearance of hotel owner Roisin Hurley, a case about which everyone is remarkably reluctant. After Roisin's body is recovered from a lake, secrets emerge. Was Roisin a victim of sexual abuse or a sinister accomplice? And is there a connection between her case and the traumatic events of Fia's childhood?

Blackshore comes from the makers of the Irish crime series Smother. Other roles include Rory Keenan, Aidan McArdle, Amy de Bhrún, Stanley Townsend, Andrew Bennett, Lisa Dwyer Hogg and Jade Jordan.

The series consists of six episodes and can be seen on BBC First from Sunday 9 June. Below is a trailer for Blackshore.
