Saw the first 3 episodes but it's not really a series for me.. It looks great and great actors but the scenes are too long. There just isn't enough going on to keep my attention.

Nice, started tonight and watched the first three episodes. Indeed a bit slow sometimes .. but much action was not necessary. Look forward to the rest!

Very atmospheric crime series. Strong acting. Series is slow take it into account and the action is dosed. Quality series for the enthusiast.

Boardwalk Empire is a great series in the vein of films like "Mobsters" with Christian Slater and "The Untouchables" with Sean Connery. .Pink" from Te Reservoir Dogs (Steve Buscemi) aka Nucky Thompson, convincingly plays the lead role, slightly based on the real "Nucky Johnson". The characters Al Capone, Meyer Lansky and Lucky Luciano are also played very well here. I see this series as a very long Mafia film, I have not really experienced that feeling with series.

It's a fun series, only I stopped in the middle of season 2. It just got really boring and milked out.

You would say that the "If-Steve-Buscemi-is-in-it-is-always-good" law applies everywhere and always. Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, Big Fish and The Sopranos had already proven that. This sum seems to apply to Boardwalk Empire as well, but… no. Buscemi plays the capo di tutti capi of Atlantic City, which in the roaring twenties was overrun by tourists looking for sex, gambling and alcohol. Actually a bit like those red-burnt British youngsters who are coming to Amsterdam these days. You can't wait to see the first episodes. T-Fords, lavish dresses, Italians, Irish, the Charleston. Everything breathes the twenties. When the admiration has faded a bit, a not very catchy storyline remains. I find then. “But who are you then?!”, I hear you think… Exactly. No one. But I just wanted to say it anyway. In season 3 they are upping the ante, so if you have the guts to sit out the first two seasons, you'll end up with something beautiful. If you really get the hang of it, you can continue with Peaky Blinders immediately after Boardwalk Empire. Same idea, but British. And let's face it, we love British. Yes right?
