‘Boardwalk Empire’s’ season 5 will be the last

HBO announced just three months after they renewed ‘Boardwalk Empire’ that the fifth season will be it’s last.

Terry Winter creator said: "We've decided to wrap up the series after such a great run and look forward to bringing it to a powerful and exciting conclusion,"

‘Boardwalk Empire’ starring Steve Buscemi has won 17 Emmy Awards since it premiered September 19, 2010. This includes the Emmy Award that Martin Scorsese won for the pilot he directed.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo stated: "It has been an incredible honor to bring this powerful and groundbreaking series to our subscribers, Terry Winter has created one for the ages."

‘Boardwalk Empire’ will premiere in the autumn of 2014.
