Briarpatch will not have a second season

The American series Briarpatch has not been renewed by USA Network.Briarpatch's first season premiered earlier this year. USA Network has now decided to discontinue the series, which means that there will be no second season. The series is based on the book from Ross Thomas with the same name.

The series was produced by UCP and Paramount Television. The creator and showrunner of the series, Andy Greenwald (Legion), revealed the cancellation through social media. Next to that, he also revealed that he had signed a new deal with UCP and is full of ideas. He already had plans for the second season, but they will not see the light of day.

Briarpatch revolves around Allega 'Pick' Dill, a determinate and stubborn investigator in Washing, DC. She works for an ambitious and young senator. When her younger sister is found dead due to a car bomb, she returns to her home in Texas, which is located in a corrupt and shady border town.
