Bridgerton has officially been renewed for a second season

There have been rumours for quite some time now, but it wasn't officially confirmed. It's a certainty now. Bridgerton will have a second season.

Through an official announcement video, Netflix has revealed that the historical costume drama is going to have a second season. In the first month, 63 million viewers watched the series.

Production will start somewhere during the spring of 2021. Bridgerton has become incredibly popular. It only seems to have one series ahead of itself, which is Lupin. The series is based on the bestseller novels by Julia Quinn and takes place in the sexy, wealthy and competitive world of the high society of Regency London.

And the 'sexy' part caused quite a bit of commotion when it became clear that the rather spicy scenes were displayed on pornographic sites. The creators have revealed that they're planning on creating eight seasons of the popular series that was introduced by Shonda Rhimes (Grey's Anatomy). Bridgerton is the first Rhimes production on Netflix and has become an instant success.
