Brian Altemus and John Clarence Stewart have been cast as series regulars in the second season of the NBC drama series Brilliant Minds. Inspired by the extraordinary life and work of world-renowned author and physician Oliver Sacks, Brilliant Minds follows Dr. Oliver Wolf (played by Zachary Quinto). Wolf is a brilliant neurologist who, together with his team of residents, explores the last great frontier: the human brain. Along the way, they also struggle with their own relationships and mental health.
Brian Altemus
Altemus plays Dr. Charlie Porter, a new neurologist in training who shields himself behind a competitive attitude and harbors a secret. For Charlie, medicine is not a calling but a competition, where winning is key.
Stewart plays Dr. Anthony Thorne, a veteran ER physician who has become a little too comfortable with the idea that emergency medicine is “blue-collar” work. Thorne is charmingly cynical, allergic to anything or anyone who is too sincere, and believes that “a little help for everyone” is better than “the most for a few.” This viewpoint brings him into direct conflict with Dr. Wolf.
In addition to Altemus and Stewart, the cast includes Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, and Donna Murphy.
