Hulu's pilot for Buffy reboot expands cast with Kingston Vernes

Kingston Vernes, known for the HBO film The Survivor, has been cast in a guest role in the pilot episode of the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.
If the Buffy reboot is officially picked up, his character will likely have a recurring role. The pilot, which doesn't yet have an official title, is being described as the next chapter in the Buffyverse.

The reboot stars Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who plays the new slayer: an introverted high school student named Nova. Sarah Michelle Gellar returns alongside her as Buffy Summers, her iconic role from the original series, and serves as an executive producer.

Vernes plays Carson, a Junior Olympic athlete and popular student at New Sunnydale Academy. Carson is the love interest of Nova (Armstrong) and begins to show interest in her after a life-changing event.

Besides Armstrong, Gellar, and Vernes, Faly Rakotohavana, Ava Jean, Sarah Bock, Daniel DiTomasso, and Jack Cutmore-Scott have also been cast.

The pilot will be directed by Oscar winner Chloé Zhao (Nomadland), with a script by Nora Zuckerman and Lilla Zuckerman.

The reboot promises a modern and refreshing take on the Buffy universe, with new characters and a nod to the original.
