Apple TV+ animated series Central Park canceled after three seasons

The animated musical comedy series Central Park has been canceled by Apple TV+ after three seasons.
Josh Gad, co-creator and the voice of Birdie, confirmed that the series would not continue after a fan asked if the series would return.

“Sadly, it’s done,” Gad shared on Threads.

Central Park

Central Park revolves around the Tillerman-Hunter family through the eyes of busker-narrator Birdie. The characters' lives change when an elderly heiress named Bitsy Brandenham plans to buy up all the land in Central Park and develop it with apartments, shops and restaurants. The Tillermans also have to solve their problems and save the park.

The series was created by Gad, Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith and premiered on Apple's streaming service in May 2020. The series ran for three seasons with a total of 39 episodes and the voice cast included Kristen Bell, Tituss Burgess, Daveed Diggs, Josh Gad, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Stanley Tucci and Emmy Raver-Lampman.

During its first season, the series faced criticism because Bell voiced Molly Tillerman, who is of mixed race. Bell was replaced by Raver-Lampman, who would take on the role for the remainder of the series.

Bell returned to the series in season three, portraying the character of Abby, Paige's (Hahn) sister.
