Chicago Fire actress Kara Killmer (Sylvie Brett) will leave in season twelve

Chicago Fire will say goodbye to Kara Killmer's character Sylvie Brett during the twelfth season of the NBC series. Killmer joined the popular series during the third season in which Sylvie played a central role. Jesse Spencer, who played her love interest Matt Casey, left the series in 2021 but returned as a guest star.

In the eleventh season finale, Matt proposed to Sylvie and we thought that might mean Spencer would return to the series. Instead, it looks like the relationship could end in marriage with the couple riding off into the sunset together. The idea is certainly a trend, as this was how Brian Tee and Yaya Dacosta left Chicago Med, as well as Nick Gehlfuss and Torrey DeVitto on the same series.



It is still unknown in how many episodes Killmer (photo) will appear in the twelfth season.

What could that mean for Chicago PD, which is also set to lose a cast member in Tracy Spiridakos? It is still unknown if Jesse Lee Soffer's character Jay Halstead will play a role in the departure of Spiridakos' character, Hailey Upton Halstead.

In any case, fans can still look forward to the return of Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire.
