Chicago Fire - Season 11 (DVD)
Chicago Fire is known for its fast pace, intense storylines and tension until the last moment. This season has reached its peak in this regard and hopefully this can continue into the next season. Finally the time had come. At the end of season 10, we got to see Severide and Kidd's wedding. And now, as a married couple, they can find out whether they can still work together. Can Severide take orders from Kidd? How well do they hold up? And what about Kidd's Girls on Fire program, can we expect our first recruit in the new season? It was a nice and peaceful ending for the first time and this leaves all avenues open for season 11 of Chicago Fire.
We can see several new surprising elements blossom this season. Brett feels inspired by Kidd's program and how important it is to target certain groups of people. Every day Brett sees again how many people need health checks. People who forget to take their medication due to their illness, causing problems, or who cannot cope on their own. Brett will dedicate herself to this group of people with her own Paramedicine program. The program shows the character of Brett that we have gotten to know and love over the seasons. Someone who cares about her fellow human beings and wants to get the best out of them.
Kidd struggles with her duties as a Lieutenant and her Girls on Fire program. It is difficult for her to combine these but give both the attention they deserve. But especially in this season, we see how important Kidd's program is and what a difference it can make in the lives of the young women in her program. Fortunately, she receives help from an unexpected source and we can see the program continue to flourish. However, we also see that it is not all roses and moonshine. Everything that is good also has a bad side.
This season we see the beautiful and the less beautiful aspects of the firefighters' lives. We see the fate of a colleague losing, but also the strength they get from the family they have in Firehouse 51. Their bad moments make the characters so much more beautiful and interesting, and above all, much more alive. Violet in particular has become so much more interesting this season. While she was very superficial before, this season she started to become part of the 51 family and has really gained depth.
Chicago Fire is known for its fast pace, intense storylines and tension until the last moment. This season has reached its peak in this regard and hopefully this can continue into the next season. Unfortunately, the season 11 DVD does not contain any bonus items. It contains all 22 episodes which are more than worth your time, but I would have liked to see some extras, deleted scenes, a look behind the scenes or interviews, but unfortunately, there is nothing that makes it stand out.
