Premiere date for drama series City on Fire from Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has set a May premiere date for City on Fire, the new drama series from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
The series stars Wyatt Oleff (I Am Not Okay With This), Chase Sui Wonders (Generation), Jemima Kirke (Sex Education), Nico Tortorella (The Walking Dead: World Beyond), Ashley Zukerman (A Teacher), Xavier Clyde ( series debut), Max Milner (series debut), Alexandra Doke (Grey's Anatomy), Omid Abtahi (The Mandalorian), Kathleen Munroe (Patriot (2017)) and John Cameron Mitchell (Joe vs. Carole) star.

Based on the novel by Garth Risk Hallberg, the story revolves around the aftermath of a fatal shooting of a young woman in New York City. There will be eight episodes.

Today, during the Winter Television Critics Association 2023 Press Tour, Apple TV+ revealed the premiere date and first look at City on Fire, the upcoming eight-episode Apple Original drama inspired by Garth Risk Hallberg's novel of the same name, featuring all episodes. written and produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.



Starring an ensemble cast consisting of Wyatt Oleff (pictured), Chase Sui Wonders, Jemima Kirke, Nico Tortorella, Ashley Zukerman, Xavier Clyde, Max Milner, Alexandra Doke, Omid Abtahi, Kathleen Munroe and John Cameron Mitchell, City on Fire creates its worldwide debut with the first three episodes on Friday, May 12, with new episodes added every Friday until June 16, 2023.

In City on Fire, a New York University student is shot in Central Park on July 4, 2003. Samantha is alone; there are no witnesses and little physical evidence. Her friends' band is playing at her favorite club in town, but she leaves to meet someone and promises to come back. She never does. As the crime against Samantha is investigated, she is revealed to be the crucial link between a series of mysterious city fires, the city's music scene, and a wealthy real estate family in the city under pressure from the many secrets they keep.

Chase Sui Wonders stars as Samantha, and Wyatt Oleff plays Charlie, a friend of Samantha's who struggles with his father's death on 9/11 two years earlier. After she is shot, he will stop at nothing to unravel the mystery of what happened.

City on Fire is produced by Apple Studios for Apple TV+. Schwartz and Savage wrote all eight episodes and serve as showrunners and executive producers under Fake Empire. Jesse Peretz directs four episodes and serves as an executive producer. Fake Empire's Lis Rowinski serves as co-executive producer.

The series will premiere alongside highly anticipated Apple Originals making global debuts on Apple TV+ this winter and spring, including Truth Be Told Season 3 (2019), Dear Edward, Hello Tomorrow!, The Big Door Prize, Season 2 from Schmigadoon!, Liaison, The Reluctant Traveler and more.
