C.S. Lee (Dexter) cast as iconic Karate Kid character in Cobra Kai season six

C.S. Lee (Dexter) has joined the cast of Netflix's Cobra Kai for the sixth and final season in an iconic role from The Karate Kid.

According to sources, Lee (pictured below) will play Master Kim Sun-Young, a character who previously only appeared in flashback form with Jun Chong in The Karate Kid and later Don Lee in Cobra Kai. Master Kim is presumed dead and at this time it is unknown if Lee will only appear in flashback form.

Alicia Hannah-Kim, who joined Cobra Kai in season five, plays Master Kim's granddaughter, Kim Da-Eun. She made her appearance in season five at the insistence of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). Both Terry and John Kreese (Martin Kove) were taught by Master Kim, who created The Way of the Fist, a brutal style of martial arts that is the polar opposite of Mr. Miyagi's (Pat Morita) teachings.

In January it was announced that the sixth season of the popular streaming series would be the final part. Season six was scheduled to air in December of this year, but was postponed when the writers' room was shut down at the start of the WGA strike in May. The writers of Cobra Kai reunited a month ago after the end of the WGA work stoppage, and filming is expected to begin in early 2024. Netflix and series producer Sony Pictures TV declined to comment.
