Alf asks Bet to stay on for a while. She agrees. Chalkie is put out to find a party in progress at No.9 when he calls to do some jobs. He is cross to see people walking food into the carpet. Maggie asks Mike to lend her £3,000. Rita is horrified when Bet moves the party into No.7. Eddie is upset that Marion won't choose him over Phil. He suggests they call off the engagement to give her more space. She gives her ring back to him.
