Jon Bernthal reprises his role as The Punisher

Jon Bernthal will join the cast of Daredevil: Born Again, Marvel's upcoming revival series on Disney+. Bernthal first played the role of Frank Castle aka The Punisher in the Netflix series Daredevil. The character debuted during the second season. Fans raved about his portrayal of the character getting its own series that ran for two seasons.

Netflix lost the rights to the Marvel characters due to the creation of the streaming platform Disney +. All Marvel Netflix series have since been canceled. The series Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and The Defenders can now be seen on Disney +.



Disney wants to reintroduce the Marvel characters in their own Marvel universe. For example, Charlie Cox made his comeback as Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Vincent D'Onofrio could be seen as mafia boss Wilson Fisk in Marvel's Hawkeye. Now it's Jon Bernthal's turn to play the bloodthirsty Frank Castle again. The question is whether he can go as wild as in the Netflix series, since Disney wants to keep the Marvel series accessible to multiple audiences. Charlie Cox has already indicated that the tone of Daredevil: Born Again will be slightly less mature.
