De Slimste Mens

De Slimste Mens is a Dutch game show which aired on NCRV. The series premiered on July 23, 2012.

Each episode is played with three candidates, almost always Dutch celebrities. What is special about the quiz is that the candidates have to think very associatively. Most rounds consist of questions requiring four or five answers. The candidates should not look for the little facts, but try to generate those answers that are in people's collective memory. Each day, one of the three contestants drops out, the other two return the next day, joined by a new contestant. The participant who has been in the game the longest will be in the right seat. The newcomer will be in the left seat. In the last week of broadcast, the contestants with the most participations return (in case of a tie, the most points gained in all episodes count). The one who wins the final broadcast will then be crowned 'The Smartest'.
