Defending Jacob takes place in a small town in Massachusetts. A shocking crime turns the town upside down. The series revolves around an assistant-DA (Chris Evans), who is stuck between his plight of justice and the unconditional love for his son Jacob (Jaeden Martell, Masters of Sex).
Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) will portray Jacob's mother. Cherry Jones (Transparent), J.K. Simmons (Counterpart), Betty Gabriel (Counterpart), Pablo Schreiber (American Gods and Sakina Jeffrey (Timeless (2016)) will play a role in Defending Jacob.

The Apple TV+ series is an adaptation of the bestseller with the same name. The series is set to premiere on the 24th of April. The first three episodes will release on that day, followed by five more on different dates.
