Three well-known actors from the Dexter franchise will be seen in the latest spin-off Dexter: Resurrection. David Zayas, Jack Alcott and James Remar will join Michael C. Hall in the Paramount+ Showtime Original series Dexter: Resurrection in series regular roles. The new series begins production this month and is set to premiere this summer.
Zayas (pictured left) and Remar (pictured right) return to the roles they made famous in the parent series, Detective Angel Batista and Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father, respectively. Alcott will play Dexter’s son, Harrison Morgan, whom he originally played in Dexter: New Blood , the sequel to the original series that debuted in 2021.
It will be interesting to see how Remar will return to the series, given that his character has been dead for some time. Although it’s certainly possible that he will continue to guide Dexter as he did in the original series. And with Zayas as a regular, could this mean that there will be more emphasis on Dexter’s new adventures and not on Harrison?
There’s no official synopsis for Dexter: Resurrection yet, but it will be a sequel to Dexter: New Blood and will be set in the present day.
The series is executive produced by Emmy nominee Clyde Phillips, who also returns as showrunner, and produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.
