A great actor who played a well-liked character on Game of Thrones will appear in Showtime's Dexter: Resurrection. Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Peter Dinklage has officially joined the regular cast of the Showtime Original Series Dexter: Resurrection, from executive producer and showrunner Clyde Phillips. Production started last month in New York and will premiere this summer.
No official synopsis has been revealed yet for the Michael C. Hall-led series, but it is the continuation of Dexter: New Blood in the present.
Dinklage (pictured) will play Leon Prater, a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue. Sources say Dinklage will play the season's big villain.
Leon works closely with Charley (Uma Thurman), his head of security. A former Special Ops officer, Charley held several high-level private security jobs before becoming Prater's resourceful and meticulous right-hand man.
In addition, David Zayas, Jack Alcott and James Remar will also be regulars in the series, returning to their famous roles: Angel Batista, Harrison Morgan and Harry Morgan respectively.
Dinklage played the role of fan-favorite Tyrion Lannister for eight seasons. He won four Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for his role.
Monica Raymund (Dexter: Original Sin) directs four episodes and Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) directs six episodes of the series distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
A taste of what's to come in Dexter: Resurrection was seen in the first episode of Dexter: Original Sin, a franchise prequel series starring Patrick Gibson as the titular serial killer in training now streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime.
Dexter: Original Sin concluded its ten-episode first season on February 14. The series premiered in December and made Showtime's most-streamed premiere in history with more than 2.1 million global cross-platform viewers, according to the streamer.
