Modern Family Actor Eric Stonestreet Cast in Dexter: Resurrection

Emmy winner Eric Stonestreet is the latest big name to join the cast of Dexter: Resurrection.
In a high-profile guest role, he will play Al. The character, who shares Stonestreet's Midwestern background from Kansas City, is believed to be a serial killer. According to sources, he will appear in four episodes.



Stonestreet (pictured) joins other big names tapped to guest star in Dexter: Resurrection as serial killers, including Krysten Ritter (Mia) and Neil Patrick Harris (Lowell).

The Dexter sequel and Dexter: New Blood, which has been filming in New York since January, features Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa and Emilia Suárez.

Dexter: Resurrection will be released this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime. It follows the recent prequel series Dexter: Original Sin , whose season finale reached a streaming high of 2.68 million worldwide viewers in February. Clyde Phillips will produce Dexter: Resurrection and return as showrunner.

Stonestreet is best known for his dual Emmy-winning role as Cameron Tucker on Modern Family. He most recently starred as Mad Santa in Disney+’s The Santa Clauses, for which he received his fourth Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor. He also guest-starred as Ian Osofsky on American Auto and hosted the reality series The Toy Box.
