“It’s time for the next chapter of Doctor Who, and it starts with a man called Dan,” added Chris Chibnall, the showrunner of Doctor Who. The role of Dan will be portrayed by John Bishop (Fearless). Last November, production on the thirteenth season of Doctor Who began. It is not yet known when the season will premiere, but it is expected to air somewhere later this year.
Dan finds himself entangled in the adventures of the doctor and shortly after that he learns that there is more to the universe then he could ever believe. Travelling through space and time alongside the Doctor and Yaz, he will have to deal with evil aliens that are more terrifying than his scariest nightmares.

Last year, the thirteenth season was announced and it will probably not be the final season. Piers Wenger, controller of BBC Drama commissioning revealed in February 2020 that the series will be part of BBC for quite some time.
