Dummy from Cody Heller will premiere on Quibi

Dummy will premiere sooner than expected. Cody Heller wrote the story, which is inspired by one of her relations, an aspiring writer and a sex doll.

When Cody Heller (Deadbeat) and Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty) started dating, they decided to be completely honest with each other. This is how Heller found out that Cody had a sex doll. Heller told The Daily Beast that she actually humanised the doll and even gave her a personality. She also started to get jealous.

This eventually resulted in an idea for a script, where she becomes friends with the doll. In reality, Dan never had sex with the doll, and when she and Dan got engaged and started living together, he got rid of the doll. Anna Kendrick (Love Life (2020)) will portray the lead character, and Meredith Hagner (Search Party (2016)) will voice the doll. The series is set to premiere on the 20th of April instead of on the 27th of April. Quibi, which has just launched, focuses on shorter episodes that were created by a professional team.

Dummy revolves around a young woman who learns to live with her insecurities, both personally and professionally. Aspiring writer Cody (Kendrick) finds the sex doll, which is called Barbara, of her boyfriend (Donal Logue, Gotham). Cody is the only one who can hear her speak. The sex doll convinces her to take her home so that she can help cure Cody's writer's block.
