Thalia Besson reprises Genevieve in Emily in Paris season five

It's official — Thalia Besson is returning as Genevieve in the upcoming fifth season of Netflix's hit comedy series Emily in Paris.
Thalia Besson is the second new addition from season four to appear in season five, alongside Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Emily’s (played by Lily Collins) new love interest Marcello. Sources confirm that Besson will once again have a recurring role, as he did in season four.

Genevieve is currently the second American character in the series, which was created and produced by Darren Star, alongside lead character Emily. She was introduced as the illegitimate daughter of Laurent and stepdaughter of Sylvie.

She grew up in the United States and came to Paris looking for work. Sylvie brought her to Agence Grateau, where Emily took her under her wing as a mentor. But Genevieve had ambitious plans of her own, and threw herself into Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) after his relationship with Emily fell apart.

Netflix announced in April that filming for season five would begin in May, first in Rome and then in Paris, with a planned release in 2025.

In addition to Besson and Franceschini, season four regulars Lily Collins (Emily Cooper), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc) and William Abadie (Antoine Lambert) are also returning. Lucien Laviscount is also returning as Emily’s ex-boyfriend Alfie, who – as previously reported – will have a regular role in season five.

“I think we’ve got a really terrific season coming up,” Darren Star stated earlier this week. “We filmed in Rome for the first four weeks, and that was an exciting experience to be there. Now we’re back in Paris, Emily is definitely back in Paris.”

Thalia Besson previously appeared in the films Dangerous Waters and Arthur, malédiction, and recently starred in Andrew Johnson's feature film When I'm Ready, opposite Lauren Cohen (The Walking Dead) and Dermot Mulroney (Chicago Fire).
