Recurring characters include his best friend Gwen (Stephanie Koenig), gym teacher Markie (Sean Patton), the unpredictable dean Rick (Carmen Christopher), and the perpetually anxious principal Grant Moretti (Enrico Colantoni).

This season, Evan once again refuses to remain silent during the controversies at Morrison-Hensley High. The group faces current issues such as climate change, Covid, military recruitment, and student cell phone use.

Furthermore, Evan struggles to keep his relationship with Malcolm (Jordan Firstman) separate from his work. Although Malcolm no longer works at the school, Evan's excessive workplace justice is increasingly putting tension in their romantic relationship.

FX has announced that season two of English Teacher will premiere on Thursday, September 25th. The launch begins at 9:00 PM ET with three back-to-back episodes. A day later, on September 26th, all ten episodes will be available on Hulu and Disney+.
