Euphoria - Season 1 and 2 (DVD)

DVD release of Euphoria, one of the most talked about series of recent years.
It's been a long time since I got my hands on a DVD that was finger-licking good. In recent years, I was mainly annoyed by naked series DVD releases where only the season in question could be found. In the past, DVD releases were the pinnacle for many fans because of the extras that I could find on the discs. These extras could contain all sorts of things and sometimes they were an absolute added value, but regularly there were also passages that only had meaning for the die-hard fans.

That DVDs are still being released in these times when you can stream almost any series without limits is something you can call remarkable. There are also quite a few series that have not yet been released on DVD, even though they have ended and have run for a few seasons.

The DVD release of Euphoria is therefore a bull's eye. One of the best series of recent years, of which two seasons have been recorded to date with, thanks to Covid, two extra episodes in between. Those two seasons and the extra episodes can already be found on this release. In addition, as a fan you get some extras on their sandwich. For example, the makers take you behind the scenes of the series and both the two seasons and the in-between episodes are included in this extra content.

For those who do not know Euphoria because the HBO series was only available in Dutch language areas on streaming services such as Streamz and HBO Max, here is a word of explanation about this controversial series about a teenager gone mad. Rue Bennett is a seventeen-year-old teacher who returns home at the beginning of the series after a stay in a drug rehabilitation center. However, that does not mean that Rue, back home, will lead a good life. She continues to explore the world and that includes drugs, sex and many other things. Euphoria follows the lives of Rue and her friends, which provides many confrontational passages that are typical of today's youth.

As we are used to from HBO series, the controversy is not avoided and you as a viewer are confronted with the facts in this gripping drama. If you still have a purchase receipt lying around after the holidays and you don't know what to buy, this DVD is definitely recommended to spend a few wonderful evenings watching. And even without a purchase receipt, the purchase of this piece of work is not a waste of money. A big ten for this release is therefore in order.

About the writer, Karzal

Karzal
Mike (1995) has been a member of MySeries since 2016 and is mainly active on the English version of the site. Since 2018, he has been actively translating news articles, columns, reviews and basically everything that ends up on the Dutch site. The original articles, columns and reviews were actually written by others. During the week Mike can be found at IKEA, where he is a national systems specialist and occasionally also in the classroom to teach an English lesson. In addition, Mike logically enjoys watching series and has actually been spoon-fed this from an early age. The genre doesn't matter, there is a place for everything in the otherwise busy life.
